During the California Collaborative for Educational Excellence’s June 6 board meeting, team members looked back at accomplishments from 2023–24 and forward to what the agency hopes to accomplish in 2024–25.
Projects staff undertook this year included working with the California Department of Education and Santa Clara County Office of Education to establish universal, targeted and intensive support for universal prekindergarten resources, services and training; facilitating African American Student Success Research-Practice Partnership meetings; providing direct technical assistance; launching a system of support directory; and offering online professional development opportunities via the Community Engagement Initiative.
According to a presentation by Executive Director Matt Navo, in the upcoming year, CCEE’s priority areas will be:
- Focus on data: Build impact with an internal and external system focus.
- Special education: Work to develop a model for targeted/intensive support for local educational agencies to address specific needs of students with disabilities.
- Math: Build coherence across state initiatives by working with state partners to provide universal resources coordination to support demands of the new math framework.
- Literacy: Work with state partners on coherence by developing coordination/alignment of literacy initiatives.
